Long distance relationships are always rocky, with a lot of ups and downs. There is simply the fact that you are apart for long periods of time and it may create resent that you cannot spend time together. There is also the possibility that one of you may give into temptation in the absence of regular contact.

4. Work

If you have a demanding job then any relationship you get into will leave your partner feeling neglected and alone. People get into relationships because they want companionship, and if your job prevents you from giving them that then your relationship likely will not last.

5. Recent Trauma

It does not have to be some huge thing, but any recent trauma can really affect a budding relationship. For example, a bad accident that almost cost your life, or being the victim of a crime. These things can leave you shaken up for a while and if you try to start a relationship while under those conditions it will just put more strain on both you and the relationship you are trying to start.

Timing in Relationships really can make or break them. When you dive into a relationship at the wrong time, you greatly diminish its chances for success. If you want to make sure your relationship will last and make both you and your partner happy, make sure the timing is right and make sure you are ready for such a commitment. You rush into things only to end up hurting not only yourself, but your partner as well.
