The Jungle Book (AmazonClassics Edition)

(10 customer reviews)

Orphaned as a baby, human-boy Mowgli is adopted by wolves, befriended by Baloo the bear, and educated in the wonders and dangers of the Indian jungle. But the adventures of The Jungle Book don’t end with the young man-cub and his unusual new family. Through tales of Kotick the White Seal, Rikki-tikki-tavi the mongoose, and others, readers learn about courage and survival, rules and order, principles and morals, coming-of-age, and the thrill of self-discovery.

Rudyard Kipling’s fables reflect both his childhood in India and his vivid imagination, while exploring the relationship between civilization and the wild.

10 thoughts on “The Jungle Book (AmazonClassics Edition)

  1. i bought paperback. this book is not for beginners. your child should be above 10 years to read such a long story patiently. Ofcourse, should be good in English too. as i bought it for my 6 year old, it was a flop.. but book is good.

  2. Nice book. I wish these Usborne illustrated originals had illustrations on every page like Usborne illustrated stories series. But, then, the book would become too big. I have already purchased Around the world in 80 day and Alice in Wonderland. Satisfied with all including this one.

  3. Sumptuously produced, and supplied with thoroughly researched notes and background information. This is the best copy of the Jungle Books in print. Unfortunately it does not have the original illustrations by WH Drake; this would have made it a legendary production. The hard cloth bind/cover is among the best in the series. Typeset in Adobe Sabon, and printed on thick cream-coloured paper.

  4. Its a perfect book for inquisitive toddlers with various flaps and pull downs to keep them engrossed in the story. My 2.5 yr old loved this book. It has around 5-6 hardcover pages which look sturdy. Colorful and bright pictures with 3-4 lines on every page. Very good book for toddlers

  5. The book is very colorful and has push and pull glaps on all alternate page. My 2 year old daughter really likes it. The story is simple but parents can make the book very interactive. The quality of the flaps are very good and also the pages are sturdy. Overall 4.7 for the book. The delivery was done three days from order. Though the tracking wasn’t given properly but delivery was fast.

  6. a great choice on the book keep it up rudyard kipling my friend!it is a hilarious piece the mowgli character is great how he was called by the wolfs how he killed shere khan .His friends baloo and bagheera .a hilarous piece. i will say that .i have given five stars !!!!!!bingo .masterpiece

  7. Fantastic! Very colourful. A flip book.No of pages:8No of flip pages: 4Less of story but colourful for the reader to add his imagination.Size of the book : 2 palmsThe flip was able to engage my hyper active lo 👍🏻

  8. This is my first order from Miriam Bos and I am not hesitant to say that the product is gem of a quality. Worth every penny. My daughter she is ~2 years old and she loves to read, explore books. There is lot to learn from this book animals, colors, story etc. The books consists of 3 pages with moving parts. Its a short story about Mowgli.Features that I like about the book:1) Book is well built.2) Bright Colors.3) Picture ClarityFor the price they are offering its worth a shot.

  9. Ab absolutely adorable book for your little one. Push and pull book that my 20 month old adores. Beautiful vivid colours. The story line isn’t much but that’s all right as for such young kids you can make up the story as you go. You won’t regret buying it one bit.

  10. The book is lovely….Every right hand page has push/pull/slide activity…The story on each page is minimal, giving more attention to the cute pictures on the pages…I have attached pics comparing it with an A4sized sheet, so, you will know the size of the book…I got it for Rs.299 and it is definitely worth it… (u might get it for a lesser price during some offer period).I am on buying the entire collection… I already have 2… 🙂
