Karn, the Suryaputra (Son of God) who spends his whole life being mocked as Sutputra. Karn, the Jayshtha Kauntya(Eldest Son of Kunti, the queen mother) who is better known as Radhay. Karn who was equally admired and loved by Panchali (The Empress) and Vrishaali. 1. I wanted to read this book from a long as it was about Karna, one of the most fascinating characters of Mahabharata. Shri Shivaji Sawant has described Karna’s every aspect of life in an intriguing manner. He has also described certain episodes from Draupadis, Duryodhans and Shri Krishna’s point of view, which gives a different dimension to the story.A must read for all avid readers of Indian epics.

  2. I read this 3rd time and looking forward to read Yugandhar. This novel teaches many aspects of life. Awesome language and the way it is written is amazing.Whenever i feel depressed i start reading this novel. It gives me strength i need to come out of toughest situations in life.Amazon is always great in quality and delivery of the product.Thanks.

  3. One of the best books I have ever read. It is a book about Mahabharata from the Karna’s perspective, the sixth son of Kunti. Believe me while reading this awesome book, you will feel like you belong to that time period and you are going through those scene. A beautiful description of each scene is there and this thing makes me to keep this book in my library. If you are a bibliophile a must buy book for you.

  4. Wat book is about: The book is a story of Mahabharata, with Karna as a central character. You could learn karna’s angle at every indecent of Mahabharata..who/ why should read it: Those who feel life is unfair to them and get demotivated could draw inspiration from Karna’s Life. It can beat many self help books. The writing is phenomenal…I read this book like 5 years back, however I strongly recommend that one should have a personal copy of it..

  5. One must read this book. Once you started it keeps you going automatically. Although being old story it motivates you.Mrutunjay – a life of Karn. It inspires our inner self. You must read this book. Author has taken lots of efforts to write this book.Perfectly written..Happy that kindle version available for this.Hoping to see season based on Karn and Mrutunjay.

  6. It’s Shivaji Sawant’s book so no need to say anything. It’s obviously an excellent book if you wanna know about life and it’s harsh reality. But there are some printing mistakes. So in digital version whoever made it should upadate it asap.

  7. 1. This is a must read book for everyone specially for those who wants to be a wise person or wanted their child’s to be a good human being.2. Lots of things to learn from these stories.3. Read this and ask your children, parents to read and understand it.

  8. “The sorrows of the common people are normal, but the sorrows of the extraordinary are unusual.”Mrutyunjay means a win over death. The one who has conquered the hearts of people will live forever. Just finished reading the epic novel Mrutyunjay. And here is my view of this book.Who was Karna anyway? Was he a son of Kunti or Radha? Was Karna a ruthless warrior or philanthropical kindest man? Why was he loyal to Duryodhana? Karna had the freedom of choice but then why did he choose to fight against his own brothers? Why did he knowingly swear to kill his younger brother, Arjuna? Why did he give away his Kavach-Kundal? These and many more questions have been answered brilliantly by Mrityunjaykaar (meaning the maker of the novel Mrutyunjay) Shivaji Sawant.Multiple POV narration of this novel is just outstanding. Shivaji Sawant has narrated the story from six point-of-views. Not one, not two, not three, but six. The views are of Karna himself, his biological mother Kunti, his dearest friend Duryodhana, his beloved wife Vrishali, younger brother Shon and the Yugandhar Shri Krishna. These POVs are used and interwoven intelligently. This is a tale of a misunderstood man, Karna. The man who is lost in the wilderness of the confusion of a lifetime. The man lived most of his life without knowing his true identity. Even after having immense potential, he was asked to prove himself on every single step. And on most occasions, he wasn’t even given the opportunity because of his descent.Karna is a well-known character from the reputed epic Mahabharata. The writer takes us on a tremendous and thrilling journey. By the time we finish the book, we learn a lot about – Karna’s life, his relationships, his escapades, his achievements, his strengths and most importantly his point of view. This novel helps us to get to know Karna up close and personal. And thanks a ton to the author Shivaji Sawant for that.He was not the son of a Suta, not the son of Kunti, not even the son of the Sun. He was a living man. He was a soldier who was ready to face any situation with determination. Shivaji Sawant untiringly works to explain the conflicts and resolves of Karna’s extraordinary life. The theme of “birth vs worth” is well narrated by Mrityunjaykaar Shivaji Sawant.I would recommend this epic novel, Mrutyunjay, to everyone. If you can read the Marathi language, then undoubtedly pick up the original and authentic ‘Marathi Kadambari’. For others, the translated book is available in most Indian languages and also in the English language. Mrutyunjay is a must-read for all the book lovers out there.

  9. Once you start reading its difficult to keep aside till finish, a must have book which could be re-read again and again. I already read this book long ago, purchased it for my personal library collection so that whenever I like, I can start reading agin
