  1. I don’t notice the fan so perhaps HP has improved things since all the negative reviews.I have also found it fast and responsive but I don’t play games.I use it for my business.

  2. When it arrived it had a bunch of junk installed so I formatted it reinstalled windows 10 pro and it runs like a dream now. Called customer service to get the Windows product code, they helped me within minutes. Only takes about 3-5 seconds to boot up. Just wish I got the bigger hard drive.

  3. I run ridiculously large Excel files and macros all day for work and this laptop has just enough juice to get the job done. Specs are exactly how you’d expect them to be for a laptop dedicated to working remotely. An issue I ran into when I wanted to add a third monitor to increase my workflow was that I quickly learned the USB Type-C port does not support adding an additional display, since there’s only one HDMI port that made adding a third monitor pretty difficult, HOWEVER – I found a great solution after hours of research and hopefully, this saves someone some time. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08HN2X88P?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details – This product works great it plugs right into the USB Type-2 port and has its own external display drive and I am now using 2 additional monitors on my laptop while working. Aside from that little hiccup from the manufacturer I still give this laptop 5 stars because I’ve had no issues traveling anywhere and working on massive amounts of data so the freedom that setting up my work from this laptop has given me is priceless.

  4. To start, I am not a gamer, do not do social media and I don’t use this for movies or entertainment. This is for work and business use only. Here are the good points:Is not touch screen. It is getting harder and harder to find a laptop without touch screen. Tablets need touch screens, laptops do not.Very thin but also built very well. No flex and hinges are tight with no play and yet easy to open/close.Battery life is very good. My useage is most plugged in but I have yet to run out of battery when I take it with me and not run off outlet. I would estimate well over 10 hours of non movie watching use. Recharged extremely fast.Screen is bright and easy to look at. I never use my laptops out in the sun so I can’t say what it does outdoors, but my question is always why would I use it outside in the sun anyway? The keyboard has a great tactile feel to it and the key spacing and height are just right for me. It also has a separate numeric keypad which is a feature I demand in a laptop. With the SSD boot up and overall performance is lighting fast. This is my first laptop with SSD and I will be putting them in every other laptop I have.Unlike other reviews I read, I have not felt a y excessive heat at any time no matter the task. It always cool and I can’t remember ever hearing the fan come on. If it has it is so quiet it can’t be heard. The styling is the best I have had on any laptop I’ve owned. It simply looks and feels great. Now for the bad points:It is HP so that means 30 minutes of removing the bloatware and a little reconfiguring of certain features. I’m waiting for the day when I get a laptop from any company and when I turn it on is not branded with software I don’t want or need, does not ask me every 3 seconds to sign up for some program or service I don’t want, or asks me continuously to register. If I day no or decline, I mean it, not ask me later again and again. I want to turn the machine on, it has an operating system installed and that it all. I have my own software, I have my own subscription to office, and I don’t want anyone telling me how to set my machine up. HP take notice. You make good hardware, but you seriously lack in the software department. Every piece of HP software I have used has caused major issues if it even works. Most of it is sales pitches to sign up for this or that. There is one major exception and that is the instant ink program for printers. That is the best thing since sliced bread. Never run out of ink, always ships I plenty of time and the cartridges are super capacity, I’d say 3x the retail version so they don’t run low often or surprise you in the middle of a print job with an empty page. Shameless pitch for no charge.I have not found any other negatives in use so far. This laptop may not be at the top of the numbers heap in benchmarks but I always maintain that who cares? If the produce performs for me and does what I need it to do than it is a good product. This laptop does just that. It does everything well and without fanfare. It just works and that is the mark of good design.

  5. Received this HP laptop the 2nd time as the first one received from Amazon “used” was not even the correct item ordered! After tying up my money for them to “receive” the wrong one back I got the second one. Description stated “used very good” only missing bonus material. laptop has issues, missing software and could not restore it to factory specs as Windows was not loaded on drive correctly. Beware of buying Used from Amazon, their refund policy needs a lot of work, they will tie up your $$.Overall it is a great laptop by HP!!

  6. Overall this is a great buy. I have had it now for two months, and have worked well with it. The processing speed is top notch, and now notice heavily what I was missing without it. Watch your battery though, this bugger runs through it, but that is expected for a heavier processor. The one thing I don’t like, and not a lick related to the hardware, is Microsofts new software setup. Everything is subscription based…which is garbage. Word has been relatively the same for 30 years, no one needs to pay monthly for it.Above all, great value buy. Great computer.

  7. After much research, I got this laptop to replace a 12-year-old Toshiba. I like every single thing about this laptop, from the battery life (amazing) to the clear screen, touchpad, keyboard, light weight, and size. This does not have a touchscreen, nor does it convert to a tablet – and I didn’t need or want either of those features. I connect it to a large standalone monitor most of the time, but it’s great to take out on the deck to work when I need to. Would highly recommend.

  8. Really nice laptop with fast processor, lots of RAM. Can not believe increase in price since I purchased. Absolutely fast on getting up in running, less than 30 seconds! Looked for a long time before purchasing this model, from HP which to me was the best company. I really missnot having more USB ports and no optical drive. Both are are available at a reasonable price but still and add on anf if traveling more to pack.

  9. It is not the top of the line, even though it has the latest greatest core i7. I am impressed with its performance, video streaming and video editing is great. Multi apps open, not a problem. It is smooth and reliable. I have read other reviews about the screen crapping out, mine has never done that, keep my fingers crossed. I love it for what its worth. Higher video editing and streaming, a graphics card is req, so what do you expect from a shared memory w iris graphics. That being said, it performs well. I got the most bang for the buck.

  10. This computer was exactly what I was looking for. It’s extremely fast booting up, and, if you look at task manager, you can see that there are no processes eating up CPU time or power, unlike the older laptop I have. The older laptop suffered from a process that was shown to be tying up as much as 75% of CPU time and “extremely high” power usage. That is not the case in this laptop, highest power usage I saw was “low”. I went through the beginning charges of the battery as the included pamphlet recommended, and I now get around 8 hours of usage before having to recharge it. I’ve never had a laptop like this before. I love it.
